UPDATE: Here’s our story idea for the Halo TV series. The legendary Halo video game series is finally coming to live-action TV, courtesy of the Showtime network. Fans of the franchise have waited a long time for such a live-action project to materialize, with attempts to turn the series into a Hollywood film faltering one by one - the most prolific attempt being by Peter Jackson and Neill Blomkamp. With some backing from Steven Spielberg’s production company Amblin Entertainment, one of these projects is finally a little more tangible....

Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Gotham season 5 - Gotham continued this week with the second episode of its fifth and final season, “Trespassers,” and while some mysteries from last week were developed further, plenty of questions still remain. Google Calendar on Android has been manual entry and update more or less. With the latest update, Google has set out to build a smart assistant that’s always at your service. This includes turning emails into events automatically. Basically, Google Calendar has become an extension to Google Now, which was doing most of these stuff without actually updating your calendar. Snapseed, the excellent free photo editing application, today received its first major update since Google purchased developer Nik Software back in 2012. Version 2.0 arrived in the App Store with a brand new user interface and a huge collection of new features, most notably including spot healing, lens blur effects, perspective transformation, and a non-destructive editing system that can copy edits from one image to another. The app remains universal across iOS devices, and now has a minimalist UI with Material Design influence....

Engadget reports that Google has been testing a new iOS and Android app at its Mountain View campus recently that would allow users to automatically join public WiFi hotspots without going through the usual log-in process. Google is apparently considering using the app in connection with its recently announced deal to provide WiFi to 7000 Starbucks locations in the US: Perhaps more interesting is Engadget’s claim that Google has “specific plans” to roll out more Google WiFi hotspots in the US and Canada as part of the ongoing “Google WiFi” effort it first launched in Mountain View back in 2006....

Grand Theft Auto V has been given new life thanks to a roleplaying server called “No Pixel,” where enterprising players can take on the role of a doctor, a criminal, and nearly everything in between. The roleplaying server has exploded in popularity thanks to Sodapoppin, Forsen, Summit1g, and a number of other extremely prominent Twitch streamers picking the modded server up and featuring it on their channels over the past week....

Greg Berlanti’s Green Lantern series for HBO Max has finally unveiled the first story details. Warner Bros. is bringing out its own streaming service later this year with the upcoming HBO Max platform. The new service is already in the process of developing several original programs that will debut on it. Griffin unveiled a series of new accessories for mobile devices today during the Consumer Electronics Show. The first of these accessories is the iTrip Aux Bluetooth, which combines a standard 3.5mm audio cable with a Bluetooth reciever powered by the cigarette lighter in your car, allowing you to stream your music wirelessly to your car’s stereo, even if you don’t have a Bluetooth equipped car. Blumhouse is producing the sequel, and are pulling out all the stops for fans. The Google game controller pictures that made the rounds around social media a few days ago are not real designs, but rather a mock-up based on a patent filing that Google made. The patent filing likely included samples of design choices simply to help illustrate what Google’s plans for the controller are, rather than an indication of what the finished product will look like when it ships. Reports first surfaced that Google was looking to take a run at the console market last summer, when it was revealed that the company was looking to develop a streaming device....

Gossip Girl is full of characters that fans love to hate. Our beloved Upper East siders definitely had their fair share of problems, but they also each had redeemable qualities that made it impossible for audiences to write them off. Ever since Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) donned the super-tight outfit for 2011’s Green Lantern, the franchise, on-screen at least, has been going through a rough patch. Costing a reported $200 million to make, the film only grossed about $220 million worldwide, making it a flop for Warner Bros. Pictures (due to its combined production and marketing costs) that effectively sealed the fate of additional Green Lantern films for the immediate future....
