Following the removal of Parler from the App Store earlier this month, a Washington-based non-profit group sued Apple last Sunday asking the company to ban the popular messaging app Telegram from its platform. First reported by the Washington Post, the “Coalition for a Safer Web” group argues that Telegram has become a place for extremists to spread their ideas on the web. According to the lawsuit, the non-partisan group accuses Telegram of hosting conversations of “white supremacists, neo-Nazis, and other hateful content,” which would be considered a violation of App Store’s terms of service....

A new series of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 posters just came out of nowhere in Los Angeles. The major strength of the first Guardians of the Galaxy was, of course, the diverse cast of characters and their infectious chemistry. The highly anticipated Vol. 2 promises more of the same, with some fresh twists infused into the already-dynamic group. Newcomer Mantis (Pom Klementieff) joins the fray, while former adversaries like Yondu (Michael Rooker) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) are also expected to join up with the heroes....

Apple opened its Mac App Store yesterday, offering Mac users an easy way to pick up and install new software on up to five machines — but within hours hackers began claiming to have hacked store security. The crack will not be available until February 2011, according to Hackulous member, Dissident: It will enable software downloaded from the store to be installed on more Macs. We’ll see how this pans out — we’d anticipate Apple and its developers will be infuriated that their already liberal approach to install rights (up to five Macs) may have been thwarted....

Google revealed the company’s plans for a new gaming platform at GDC 2019 today, announcing the existence of Stadia. The platform was announced by Phil Harrison, and will be designed to bring together communities of gamers, developers, and streamers in a way that Google states has not been done before. Stadia was born out of Project Stream, as revealed during the presentation. Publisher and developer Ubisoft was a major presence during the presentation as well, as Yves Guillemot was shouted out for helping Google test its technology when the company allowed players to test streaming Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in 2018....

Cory Michael Smith’s portrayal of Edward Nygma and the Riddler was one of the best elements of Gotham. Instead of just a brief arc, Nygma was a main character throughout the show and fans got to experience his gradual development and descent into madness that would transform him into the iconic Riddler. The Riddler is best remembered for his dastardly schemes and penchant for riddles, but Smith’s nuanced performance brought other aspects of the character to life....

A number of members of Batman’s rogues gallery have appeared in one form or another during the season, either fully in their villainous persona or well on the way to developing it.
