Update: Separate tests by software engineer Dan Loewenherz show that a 10w charger is the sweet-spot if you’re looking to balance charging time against cost and portability. The iPhone 8 and the upcoming iPhone X both support fast charging via Apple’s 29W USB-C adapter and USB-C to Lightning Cable. Apple says that by using fast charging, your iPhone can charge up to 50% in as little as 30 minutes. Unfortunately, the official first party charging accessories — its 29W USB-C Power Adapter ($49), and its 1-meter USB-C to Lightning Cable ($25) — cost nearly $75 combined....

Google first announced Android 12L in October, emphasizing that the update would focus on devices with larger screens, like foldable phones and tablets. To experience the primary changes found in Android 12L you’ll need a compatible tablet or you can set up the Android emulator via Android Studio. Among the announcements: a new Nexus smartphone from LG, a Samsung-built Nexus 10 tablet, and updates to Google’s 7-inch Nexus 7 lineup. LG Nexus 4: Google is launching the much-rumored LG Nexus 4 on Nov. 13 starting at $299. Much of the specs were confirmed previously, but Google has interestingly decided to not offer an LTE-capable model of the device....

A Google Stadia executive said the game streaming platform will have “way better” multiplayer connectivity than what’s possible on consoles, potentially allowing for “thousands of people” playing together in the same game world. The proliferation of cloud-based gaming services like Stadia are seen by some as a sign of the death of traditional game consoles. Following its announcement earlier this year, Google’s game streaming platform was initially thought by many to be a “Netflix for games,” but it has become clear that’s not the case....

Gotham is a busy show, and necessarily so. At times it seems the series continues out of force of habit, that no one in particular is piloting the ship, so characters find themselves pushed headlong into crazy storylines because that’s what Gotham does. The deliberate aimlessness that has kept the series from realizing its full potential is certainly on display in the season 4 midseason premiere ‘Pieces of a Broken Mirror’, which, for the most part, is more devoted to playing catchup than it is progressing the many storylines left by the series back in December....

Gotham has revealed its final Joker design, and while the reaction online has been fairly negative, the look works well enough within the context of the show. With only two episodes remaining, Gotham’s time on television is almost over and arguably the most complex character to feature throughout the series’ has been Gotham’s version of iconic Batman villain, the Joker. Played by Cameron Monaghan, first as Jerome Valeska and then as his twin brother Jeremiah, Gotham’s Joker has been defined by a lingering uncertainty but, as the seasons went by, Monaghan’s villain took on more and more Jokerish traits until the connection was impossible to ignore....

Similarly, now that Theo Galavan (James Frain) is dead - or, rather, dead for the time being - there is room for someone else to fill the “Big Bad” position that Theo occupied during the “Rise of the Villains” story arc....
