The trailer has arrived for Neil Jordan’s dramatic thriller, Greta. Jordan, of course, is the Oscar-winning storyteller behind subversive thrillers like The Company of Wolves, The Crying Game, Interview with the Vampire, and Byzantium. Many of his films have a supernatural horror element (as these titles illustrate), though that’s definitely not always the case with Jordan’s work. Still, be they supernatural or not, the characters in his movies are known for having their share of secrets - and that’s clearly the case in Greta, too....

ABC’s hit medical drama - now the longest running medical drama on TV - has already been renewed for a sixteenth season, before its fifteenth has even concluded. With Grey’s Anatomy being such a long-running series, it has become a constant in many viewer’s lives. The cast of characters have become so beloved over the years, that even people who don’t watch Grey’s probably know who Dr. Meredith Grey is....

The next one year will have seen long-running shows come to an end, with The Big Bang Theory having just concluded and Supernatural bowing out with its fifteenth season. On the other side of this is Grey’s Anatomy, which has already been renewed for a seventeenth season even before Season 16 has started. This means we have room for many former characters to return next year, but this should include characters whose returns make sense and the fans want....

The classic teen drama Gossip Girl was always a pretty problematic piece of work. The ending was certainly questionable (or, if your glass is half empty, completely unquestionably bonkers and illogical) but there were some great moments littered throughout the show. While the central plot saw the titular Gossip Girl tormenting everyone on the Upper East Side, there were always a fair few interesting things going on under the surface. A few of them were entertaining and gave us a great background to some already interesting characters....

After the back end of the 2000s introduced audiences to the Peak TV movement and the dawn of the streaming age made binge-watching the new norm, the 2010s brought us a bunch of addictive drama series. From a high fantasy saga filled with sex, gore, and dragons to a soap opera set during a zombie apocalypse, the 2010s were a great time to be a fan of genre stories. The decade also brought plenty of interesting crime shows, as the tragic downfall of Walter White got TV viewers in the mood for criminal character arcs....

[SPOILERS for those not caught up on Gotham season 2 ahead.] - The last time we saw Gotham, everything seemed to hit the fan. On the one hand, we had a sense of closure with the end of Theo Galavan, but the repercussions of that event may cause unending ripples for the heroes of this show. As far as the emotional state of our characters, Jim Gordon and Lee Thompkins, are concerned, this ending might as well have been a cliffhanger....

Guillermo del Toro is eager to traumatize a new generation of children by bringing Alvin Schwartz’s Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark series to the big screen. Schwartz’s short story collections (published from 1981-91) are full of creepy yarns accompanied by even freakier black and white illustrations from Stephen Gammell. The books were the stuff of nightmares for children of the ’90s who grew up reading them, so it’s only natural that the director of Pan’s Labyrinth and The Shape of Water would want to turn them into a “movie for kids”....

At the moment, virtual reality gaming is at an awkward middle stage. When the likes of the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive first burst onto the scene, the potential for the technology was immense, from the early tech demos through to the initial retail hardware releases. However, there was a sense that a lot of the content initially made available acted as proof of concept rather than as fully fledged gaming experiences....

Last week, it was reported that Apple would be delaying its return to mandatory in-person work by at least one month due to rising COVID-19 cases. As expected, this is also likely to have an impact on Apple’s plans for the iPhone 13 unveiling this fall, and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman now reports that the iPhone 13 event is likely to be virtual rather than in-person… Apple had originally said that all employees would be required to come back to the office for at least three days per week starting in September....

Although hundreds of thousands of invitations have gone out for Google Wave already, I’m still getting emails from some groovyReaders requesting invites. The forum topic for Google Wave Invites has also heated up a bit recently. The Original Solomon In the comics, Solomon Grundy isn’t specifically a Batman villain, but a character who has gone up against multiple heroes over the years (as well as other villains, from time to time). Originally a young boy by the name of Cyrus Gold, Grundy had a horrifying upbringing and terrible life. He was beaten and abused by his drunk father, and abandoned by his mother. His father even went so far as to bury him alive to remind him that he wasn’t ‘worth the dirt over him’....

Launched just a week ago, Grounded is making quite the buzz already. It is in its early stages, and only a few weapons are available as of now. The most potent weapon from the list is the Mint Mallet, which is the only Tier 3 weapon in the game right now. The Mint Mallet is an ultimate weapon that can easily stun almost any insect that you may encounter. The damage on this weapon is second to none right now....

Halloween easily won the box office this weekend, nearly matching the October all-time record set by Venom just a couple weeks ago. After a relatively slow September, the marketplace got a shot in the arm when the calendar flipped over and Venom and A Star is Born premiered in theaters. Both highly-anticipated films performed well commercially, with the former even rewriting the record books. They’ve held strongly over the early course of their respective runs, but their time at the top of the charts was about to come to an end....

Every so often, we see a competitor throw some shade at Apple on Twitter, and sometimes they do it while tweeting from the very iPhone they are mocking. The Google Pixel team hasn’t learned their lesson, apparently, and sent out a tweet mocking Apple last night while using “Twitter for iPhone.” It was quickly deleted… but the internet doesn’t forget. As spotted by friend of the site Ian Zelbo, the Google Pixel account on Twitter sent out a tweet last night in response to Tim Cook’s “#TakeNote” teaser....

For a moniker that sounds so harmless, Littlefinger was quite the opposite. Actually named Petyr Baelish, he grew up with the Tully children after Lord Hoster Tully of the Riverrun took him as his ward. Due to his conniving schemes, Baelish rose through the ranks. From the Lord of minor holdings, he became one of the most important players in the Game of Thrones. Achieving tall statuses such as Master of Coin, Lord Protector of Vale, Lord of Harrenhal required meticulous planning and execution....

The toy industry is by far the most lucrative when it comes to children’s products. Every single show, movie, or book series aimed at kids is quickly followed by a line of toys in order to make a quick buck with the merchandising rights. Toys like the original G.I. Joe and the Star Wars action figures had been around for awhile, but it was in the ’80s and ’90s that the action figure business really started to balloon....

Grey’s Anatomy is one of the longest running medical television shows on the air. For fourteen seasons, Meredith Grey and company have won over audiences with their constant medical emergencies, devastating losses, and relationship drama. It’s one of those rare shows that spans across different generations. It’s also a show with the unique opportunity to explore stories and follow characters from the beginning of their journey to where they are a decade or more later....
