Google today has updated its Snapseed photo editing app for iOS with a handful of new features and improvements. The update bumps the app to version 2.9 and brings a new face editing tool, RAW support, and more. First off, the update adds a new tool that will help users bring better clarity to faces in their images. Google says that this new “photogenic” tool will help users better focus on faces in images, as well as smoothen skin and add clarity to eyes....

The Guardians of the Galaxy movies cast has released an open letter that announces they “fully support” James Gunn, following the writer/director’s firing this month. Said letter includes signatures from nine of the films’ main cast members, including stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Bautista. Gunn was fired from the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 by Disney on Friday, July 20. The decision was made after conservative websites and commentators dug up old tweets posted to Gunn’s now-deleted Twitter account - wherein he makes intentionally offensive jokes about pedophilia, rape, 9/11, and other extremely sensitive topics - prior to his time working for the Mouse House and Marvel Studios on the Guardians of the Galaxy movies....

The company has now announced a fully functioning prototype of their self-driving car which it plans to test on the San Francisco Bay Area roads beginning with next year. The company said to following: Google’s current prototype of the car seems to have everything it needs to be on the road – the autonomous driving system and traditional vehicle parts like braking, lighting and steering. At the moment, it looks exactly like a prototype, but the company is already looking for auto industry partners that will help produce a more mature model and release it to consumers....

In a post titled “Apple’s clean energy plans still cloudy despite coal-free pledge,” Greenpeace praised Apple on its blog for significantly improving clean energy policies, but the environmental organization still gave the company low scores for its energy choices.
