It’s been an exciting couple of months for Donald Glover. First, the new FX comedy series that he created and stars in, Atlanta, turned out to be one of the biggest critical successes of last year, and went on to win awards fairly quickly after its first season ended. Then the actor and musician was just recently announced to be playing Simba in Jon Favreau’s upcoming live-action adaptation of The Lion King for Disney, where he’ll be starring alongside James Earl Jones....

Not only has Google pushed Wave into the public domain, but now it is available as a free tool for all Google Apps users. A new Gotham featurette teases the arrival of Scarecrow next season and sees Selina channeling her inner supervillain. With the renewal of Gotham confirmed recently, fans can breathe a sigh of relief that the Batman prequel series will be able to continue Bruce’s journey to becoming the Dark Knight. Along the way, the show will also be able to continue the evolution of the show’s other characters, from anti-heroes to outright villains....

This week’s episode of Gotham confirmed a long-standing fan theory: Penguin’s accountant, Arthur Penn, is the show’s version of classic Batman villain, The Ventriloquist. While never a top-tier menace alongside the likes of Joker, Riddler and Bane, The Ventriloquist has always been a popular enemy among Bat-fans and has appeared in comics, video games and the 1990s animated series. Known as the meek and unassuming Arnold Wesker, his weak psyche is “controlled” by a gangster-themed ventriloquist’s dummy who encourages the man handling him to commit an array of felonies....

Batman is widely considered to have the best rogues gallery of all the superheroes out there. Many television shows, films, and video games have been created around the tales of Batman against his many foes. Some are iconic like The Joker, The Riddler, and Catwoman; others are less famous, yet still intriguing. In 2014, Gotham began airing on FOX. It told the story of a young James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) during his time with Gotham PD....

This week on Gotham, a new crisis has hit the Gotham City Police Department (GCPD): someone is killing cops, and the cherry on top of these murders is the fact that the killer slaps a pig head over that of the corpse. It’s a fairly horrifying concept (although this is Gotham City), but when Gotham introduces the culprit with his own dead-pig-mask, things get truly creepy. However, that’s not a bad thing....

Good things come in small packages. At least that seems to be what Gotham is hinting at with its three-week storyline teasing the resurrected Jerome Valeska’s continued evolution into what appears to be the Joker. After already taking a few weeks off during the holidays, the Batman prequel series returned for a short stint, so that Jerome could terrorize the citizenry of the gloomy metropolis and maybe have a little one-on-one time with Bruce Wayne....

Grammarly is a very useful writing tool and with more and more people using iPad for productivity, the service has included some nice updates for Apple’s tablet in the latest Grammarly for iPadOS release. First up is the ability to access the Grammarly Editor withing the iPadOS app, so no more bouncing between the app and the web version. The other change here is official support for hardware keyboards like Apple’s Magic Keyboard in the iPadOS app (via the Grammarly blog)....

Part of Grand Theft Auto 5’s continued relevance so long after its initial 2013 release is due to the popularity of online roleplaying - something Rockstar would be smart to capitalize on for Grand Theft Auto 6. So far, Grand Theft Auto roleplaying is a community-driven effort, powered by fan-made mods and servers. GTA 6 should both introduce its own roleplay systems by default and increase the community’s capabilities to make these kinds of mods....

James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 receives an official PG-13 rating. The film is just a month away from its May 5 premiere and promises to be another thrilling addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The original Guardians of the Galaxy boasted one of the MCU’s most distinctive blends of action and humor, the latter often toeing the line in terms of vulgarity. The comic interplay between the main characters, in particular, took the MCU to hilarious new heights....

Throughout three phases and a total of 14 movies released so far, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has given fans a variety of adventures on the big screen featuring some of their favourite superheroes. They have taken us back to World War II in Captain America: the First Avenger, to a different realm in Thor, kept us at the edge of our seats with a superhero spy-thriller in Captain America: the Winter Soldier, and gave their own universe a fun twist with Guardians of the Galaxy....

WWDC 2022 will start a few days from now on June 6. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, in his latest Power On newsletter, gives some additional tidbits regarding iOS 16 and tvOS 16. Starting with iOS 16, Gurman had already reported that Apple will bring updates to the Health app, notification panel, and “major enhancements for the lock screen including wallpapers that have widget-like capabilities.” In addition, Gurman said iOS 16 builds in a feature to support an always-on lock screen, as you can learn more about it here....

As someone who runs the latest iOS and tvOS betas on all devices, I was able to take advantage of the new rent once, watch anywhere feature included in yesterday’s iTunes 12.6 update to the full. Have a look at our brief video walkthrough inside to see why this comes as a welcomed new addition. After updating to iTunes 12.6, I rented a movie on my MacBook Pro. That same movie was immediately available under the Library tab of the TV app on my iPhone and iPad....

DC Films’ Green Lantern Corps writer Geoff Johns will be pulling double duty with the Emerald Knight for Warner Bros. on the big and small screen as the longtime DC Comics writer is boarding Greg Berlanti’s upcoming series for HBO Max.
