By this point, it shouldn’t really come as a surprise to anyone that Fox’s Gotham is going to be introducing more villains as time goes on. After all, the second season has been known as “Rise of the Villains” and now with the second half of the series set to start on February 29th, audiences will be introduced to the “Wrath of the Villains” storyline. As far as comic book narrative go, the unspoken rule has typically been the more baddies the better – which appears to be a formula well adhered to in upcoming movies like Suicide Squad and even Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice....

Salt Labs would not say which company was affected as a way to protect users, but it explained that the vulnerabilities have been fixed since they were discovered. The upcoming sequel will reference the non-canon sequels in subtle ways out of respect for the fans - and some of these references even show up in the movie’s first trailer. John Carpenter’s indie horror classic Halloween was a game-changer in the genre when it was released back in 1978....

Siri investor Shawn Carolan has launched a new email and task management app, Handle, at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference. The web-based service with iOS companion app is based on the same CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) approach as the highly popular Mailbox iOS app … Carolan says he created the app with co-founder Jonathan McCoy when he couldn’t find an existing solution that did everything he wanted. From a brief review of the video, Handle appears to be somewhat more sophisticated than Mailbox, fully integrating emails, other tasks and calendar appointments, but we’ll be carrying out a head-to-head review of the two later to find out how they compare....

If you’re a new MacBook Pro owner, then perhaps you’ve considered using external storage to increase storage capacity. After all, the MacBook Pro is limited by relatively small internal storage drives, although you can now go up to 2TB (at a $1,200-$1,400 premium) with 15-inch build-to-order options. That said, I think most professional creatives will be interested in adopting some form of external storage to use with the new MacBook Pro....

Today at its press event to unveil its new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, a rebranding of its Nexus-line of devices, Google also took the wraps off new features coming to its Assistant and Home platforms and more. The company highlighted claims that its new smartphones have the best camera of any mobile device yet, including comparing it to the new iPhone 7 camera. The new Pixel phones are an evolution of Google’s previous Nexus line of Android phones with the company having more control over the manufacturing and branding of the device than in previous years, but they are still partnering with HTC behind the scenes....

New images reveal a first look at Michael Chiklis as the Executioner in Gotham. There was good news for fans of the series this month, as Fox officially renewed Gotham for a fourth season this fall. This news comes as the show remains one of Fox’s best-performing scripted series (despite a drop in ratings this year), and it looks like there will be plenty more time to explore Gotham’s versions of famous Batman characters....

The Joker and Batman have always enjoyed a complicated relationship, and Gotham highlighted that by making each iconic figure responsible for the existence of the other. Throughout various interpretations of the Batman story, the Caped Crusader and Clown Prince of Crime are presented as fated adversaries, two polar opposites destined to do battle until the end of time. However, some adaptations take that concept even further and instead of simply making the Joker and Batman’s sworn nemeses, both characters are shown to be psychologically dependent on each other....

The Arrowverse is about to expand as Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) heads on over to the CW. Although the Kara Zor-El already made an impact on the CW’s run of superheroes last season, her presence on the network suggests a major event after the fall season kicks off. Merged into one place, executive producer Marc Guggenheim will have a full time job keeping track of all the different players – especially with all the lineup changes and new characters....

While most horror films these days pile on the jump-scares or attempt to provide more cerebral terrors, few borrow elements from fairytales, where much horror has been found for hundreds of years. As cautionary fables, fairytales from all over the world, particularly in Europe, have been dark stories designed to instruct children not to stray from paths, not to venture out alone at night, and not to talk to strangers....

Get ready to see Solomon Grundy on the small screen. The latter half of Gotham season 3 played host to lots of big changes, including the unceremonious deaths of several regulars. One of those regulars was Butch Gilzean (Drew Powell), a high-ranking figure in Gotham’s criminal underworld who had worked either with or against just about every notable villain in the city. While Butch was often frustrated by his inability to ascend to the top of the criminal pack, he at least usually occupied a second-in-command-type spot on the organized crime food chain....

David Gordon Green brought brand-new footage from his Blumhouse-produced Halloween to Universal’s Hall H panel at the ongoing San Diego Comic-Con. The film, which Green cowrote with Danny McBride, represents something of a fresh start for the Halloween series, in the sense that it functions as a direct continuation of director John Carpenter’s original 1978 slasher movie Halloween and ignores every sequel released since then. As such, the “final girl” from Carpenter’s horror classic, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is still alive and well in Green’s take on the property....

Praise be: The Handmaid’s Tale is renewed for season 4 at Hulu. The award-winning series has become a stand-out for the streaming subscription service by tackling an adaptation of a disconcerting novel as originally written by Margaret Atwood. The Handmaid’s Tale envisions a near dystopian future where religion controls most of the U.S., which is now known as the Republic of Gilead. In this future, many women are unable to conceive children due to an unknown condition....

Back in 2009, Google launched an ambitious voice-forwarding service that allowed users to maintain one number across multiple devices. Today, Google Voice received its first major update in years that sees a redesigned web interface, iOS app, and the promise of continued updates. Google Voice has been redesigned around a new inbox that features separate tabs for text messages, calls, and voicemails....

One of the best-known villains in the Batman mythology, Poison Ivy has made surprisingly few live-action appearances, although she’s heavily featured in the animated DC universe. She’s only appeared in a single live-action movie – the appalling Batman and Robin, where Uma Thurman brought Pamela Isley to life as one of the villains George Clooney and his bat-nipples had to defeat. More recently, Ivy has appeared in Fox’s Gotham, but she’s far from the vampy villainess that we know and love....
