Guillermo del Toro’s stop-motion animated Pinocchio movie adaptation has officially landed at Netflix. The Oscar-winning filmmaker started developing the project back in 2011, but has struggled to gain the financing needed to actually start production since then. Between Disney moving forward on its own live-action Pinocchio retelling and del Toro having not really spoken about his animated take on Carlo Collodi’s classic fairy tale in about a year, most of the director’s fans had probably assumed the project was dead in the water, at this point....

From 9to5Toys.com: Guitar Hero Live has hit iOS today in what is being billed as essentially a full-on port of the console game. The highly-anticipated virtual band title also launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this morning. Activision has opted for an in-app purchase model for this title. The iOS version is available for free to download, but only includes two songs. If you’re after the full catalog, you’ll have to purchase the full game or grab the new iOS bundle that includes a guitar controller....

Today, Lifehacker and Gawker confirmed the rumors that have been circulating since Saturday afternoon: a hacker group known as Gnosis has breached Gawker’s servers, harvesting over 200,000 usernames, emails and passwords along with, according to the torrent file posted on PirateBay “an additional million or so easily decryptable” usernames and passwords. Lifehacker and the rest of the Gawker blogs, which includes Fleshbot, Jezebel, Gizmodo, Jalopnik, Jezebel, Kotaku, Lifehacker, Deadspin and io9, have responded in classy fashion, posting a comprehensive, frank and measured response to the security breach....

Blumhouse’s Halloween 2 is reportedly gearing up to start filming this fall for an October 2020 release date. Lionsgate - through its Lionsgate Premiere imprint - was planning to give Gotti a limited theatrical release, day and date with a VOD release....

In a recent interview, Green Lantern Corps writer and producer Geoff Johns insisted that the upcoming film can’t just be DC’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Earlier this year, Warner Brothers announced that Johns would pen the script for the upcoming Worlds of DC film, Green Lantern Corps. Fans were thrilled by the announcement, and after years of stagnation, it seemed like the project was finally moving forward.
